In this workshop you will learn some easy techniques to create small books which are ideal for journals, artist books, or as gifts.

We will cover several different styles from folded books, through to simple stitched samples. These books are a great way to recycle cardboard and scrap papers.

No prior knowledge is required or expected. This is a really enjoyable class with lots of ideas and practical tips where you will leave with completed examples.
Event Details
Timing: Full day (9am - approx 5pm)

Price: $120

Value of included Materials (approx): Approximately $20 per person

Materials provided: A variety of papers, card, threads, wax, class notes, glues and needles.

What to bring: Lunch and a drink. If possible: cutting mat, sharp craft knife, metal ruler, bone folder, awl or sharp skewer. i will have some of these available to borrow if needed.

You will leave with: Several small books in various styles.

Ronnie Martin

Ronnie is an experienced and knowledgeable tutor who delights in encouraging her students to develop an awareness of their own sense of design.

She was the Founder and Creative Director of the annual Changing Threads Fibre and Textile Awards for the past 15 years. She has taught, exhibited and judged widely, both in NZ and overseas. Her work encompasses many artistic disciplines including painting, mixed media, textiles, books, printmaking and art dolls.
